Basic under 25yrs old GBP16,000

Over 25yrs old GBP16,800

Early years teaching requires an enthusiastic, imaginative and energetic individual capable of gaining the full potential from each child.

The ideal person will come from a background where they have had to develop and implement lessons and work schemes, within the appropriate age and stage of development of the children.

The suitable candidate will maintain a safe, secure and caring environment.

Main Duties:

  • To ensure all daily routines are adhered to, by organising and carrying out the planned activities.
  • Maintain good communication with parents and involve them in all aspects of their child's learning.
  • To uphold children's learning journals and carry out profiles and assessment.
  • Take part outside of working hours in training, parents evening and team meetings.
  • Ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to and implemented in the nursery and respect the confidentiality of any information received.
  • Be prepared to work where needed, within the nursery.
  • Develop a role within the team and carry out duties and projects upon request by your room leader or manager.
  • Engage in a good staff team by safeguarding of all children and support room leaders when monitoring students in training.
  • Work alongside the nursery team to ensure the philosophy and aims of the nursery are met, take care of yourself and others to comply with Smiles Health and Safety rules.

Key interfaces:

  • Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Paediatric first aid
  • Experience with working with children 0-5
  • Knowledge of the EYFS, record keeping and key worker system
  • Safeguarding level 2

Knowledge & skills:

  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of people.
  • Able to feedback information in the form of written reports
  • Able to work within a team and maintain good communication.
  • Knowledge of Safeguarding, Health and Safety and risk assessment
  • Knowledge of the Children Act as Every Child Matters
  • Knowledge of the EYFS
  • Knowledge of Ofsted requirements
