We are currently recruiting Support Workers for an individual within our Supported Living Service, to provide support over a 24-hour period including sleep in duties.

Position: Support Worker
Reference: SLSWLD 
Location: Supported Living, Plymouth
Salary: up to £8.35 per hour (Sleep in duties, when required, are usually between 10pm-7am paid at £67.50)
Hours:
 Both part time and full-time contracts with a variety of shift patterns are available

Shift patterns are available Monday-Sunday and include:

  • Shift 1: 8am-10pm (sleep in duties 10pm – 7am) 7am – 8am
  • Shift 2: 9am-7pm

Shift patterns will need to be flexible based on meeting the needs of the gentleman you will be supporting.

Job Description: 
Mr L is looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals to support him to live the life he wants, to be able to go out into his local community and visit the places he likes. It is important that you are a quick thinker, as Mr L needs the people around him to respond quickly, and be able to think outside the box. Mr L has so many brilliant qualities, and can be so much fun to be around. Mr L can be challenging at times towards those around him, but he is looking for his support to respond positively to reassure him. Having a knowledge of Autism and supporting people previously would be desirable, but not essential.

We need our teams to:

  • Work with Support Plans that are tailored to the individual’s likes and dislikes.
  • Support people to engage in meaningful activities in everyday life and accessing the community.
  • Promote independence and maintaining life skills.
  • Lead and motivate those individuals to achieve their goals.
  • Build strong relationships through excellent communication skills and shared interests, whilst maintaining solid family connections.

In return, we will:

  • Salaries ranging from £8.35 per hour.
