Medical Laboratory Assistant

Contract Type: Agency Temp (3-6months initial contract)

Salary Grade: - £16.50 - £20 per hr

Job Elements: -

·Working to commission new instruments within a pathology laboratory and working with customers to achieve the project aims.

·Using an instrument/s routinely and performing maintenance schedule.

·Recording activities as part of the commissioning record and sending data for analysis.

·Working with blood and other body fluids.

·Working with personal protective Equipment (gloves, lab coats, safety glasses etc.).

The ideal candidate will have:

·Ideally degree level education within a scientific subject (Biomedical Science, Chemistry, Forensic Science etc.).

·Or proven work history within a similar environment with a minimum of A Level or equivalent qualification in a scientific discipline.

·Minimum of 1 year experience working in a laboratory environment.

·Written and verbal communication skills..

·Computer literacy.

·Good laboratory practical skills, demonstrating a thorough working knowledge of Immunoassays and related instruments.

·Ability to record experimental work accurately.
