Accountant Bookkeeper

Your new company
This flexible 60-80% role will be working for a fast-growing global media company based in the middle of Soho. The successful candidate will support the smooth running of the financial operations primarily bookkeeping and accounting but also supporting with administration of the royalty calculation tool. The company is supported by European broadcasters and parent company is based in Germany.

Your new role
For the position of Bookkeeper/ Accountant, you will be looking after the finances of the business using Xero system. You will report to the Finance Manager of the business and be part of small but well structured finance department focused on doing things right first time but also looking to improve to support the changing needs of the business. XERO is set up, however there are further integrations planned to optimize processes to reduce duplication of work and remove non-value adding activities. Duties will include:

• Production of Month end management accounts
• Maintain purchase ledger and supplier details within XERO
• Bank reconciliations
• Review and support staff expense claim processes
• Petty cash for production activities
• Journal entries
• Dealing with supplier queries
• Processing of VAT returns
• Maintenance of fixed asset register
• Dealing with finance related queries
• Ad hoc tasks as required to support the finance department.

What you'll need to succeed
You must have experience working with XERO, good attention to detail and ideally have at least 2 years’ experience working in a similar role. Preferably you would have experience in a similar role working in the media sector and possess accountancy qualifications.

For more experienced individuals the scope of the role might be slightly further to include two more entities however these are not expected to be time consuming for the right individual.

What you'll get in return
You will receive a competitive salary of up to £25-35k + bonus pro rata depending on experience. You will have ownership and autonomy in the role and be the third member of the finance department. There is considerable scope for the right individual to influence the way the finance department operates as well as develop as the business grows.
