Warehouse Operative / Fork-Lift Truck Driver

Due to sustained and successful growth, this manufacturer of cement based products is currently recruiting for a Warehouse Operative / FLT driver based in their Leyland plant.

Responsible as a Warehouse Operative for goods In / Out. Primary role is to load and unload vehicles and to ensure the warehouses are well organised and that stock and raw materials are put away in their designated areas. The role also involves picking and preparing customers' orders and general warehousing duties. Specifically to undertake:

1. Loading and unloading goods from vehicles on a forklift truck
2. Carry out daily inspections of the fork lift trucks and immediately report any issues
3. Recording of all incoming goods into the "Goods In" spreadsheet
4. Assisting with stock control as and when required including stock rotation
5. Accurately preparing and picking customer orders as required
6. Ensuring vigilance in Powder Emissions Control
7. Monitor the waste control to ensure the warehouses and kept clean, tidy and well organised
8. General warehousing duties ensuring the warehouses are well organised
9. Maintaining the cleanliness of working areas and warehouses
10. Reporting any issues with equipment (including, but not limited to, malfunctions, defects or repairs) by completing the equipment defect form and handing over to the maintenance department
11. Following Health and Safety procedures including, but not limited to, ensuring appropriate PPE equipment is worn as instructed.
12. Following and implementing Quality Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures

Candidates must hold a fork-lift truck license for counter balance fork-lift trucks.

40 hours per week, this is a permanent position with working hours of 10am - 7pm (60 minute break), Monday to Friday.

Ideally the right candidates will live within a 20 minute commuting distance of Leyland near to Chorley, Clayton-le-Woods, Bamber Bridge, Farington, Farington Moss and Preston.

The stated salary is the starting salary which will be reviewed at performance appraisal reviews carried out annually.
