Our client has six nature reserves in South Essex (which form part of the Greater Thames Estuary), and also manage a wildlife garden and a visitor centre. The estuary is home to a broad range of habitats from wet grassland, reedbed, marshland and brownfield areas. Their reserves are one of the most important places in the country for nature including rare species of bumblebee and migrating and over-wintering bird populations; including some of national significance such as wintering black tailed godwits.

Your duties will be varied and will include maintaining the building and offices at South Essex, providing comprehensive business / operational support for the delivery of the work programmes, and supporting an effective working environment. You will have an extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and a good knowledge of financial process management; including budget management, procurement of goods and services and selecting appropriate suppliers and contractors. You will have excellent customer service and organisational skills, and the ability to use your own initiative. You will also be able to negotiate, solve problems and prioritise your workload, whilst remaining calm under pressure. Excellent communication skills are a must, as is being able to work as an integral part of a busy team.

The post holder will also provide PA support to senior managers and manage telephone and face to face enquiries from staff, volunteers and the public. Building and maintaining effective relationships both internally and externally will also be important. They are looking for good communicator and team player.

If you think you have the skills and experience needed and would like to be part of a friendly team that is passionate about nature, they look forward to receiving your application.
