We have a client who is dedicated to providing the best possible learning experience for children between 1 month to 5 years of age in a loving and friendly atmosphere. Due to recent growth they have a position available for a Room Leader. The right candidate will be responsible for promoting our vision and ethos to ensure that a child-centred, safe and stimulating environment is provided, meeting the needs of every individual within a group setting.
Requirements:
- Hold at least NVQ3 in Child Care or equivalent or higher
- Experience of working with young children (0 - 5 years)
- Sound knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage
- Sound knowledge of child development (birth - five years) and a good understanding of the needs of young children including those with special educational needs
Responsibilities
- To lead a specific room
- Safeguarding children
- Ensure excellent high quality childcare
- Planning activities appropriate to the age and development of the children.
- Take an active role within the senior management team
- To assist the nursery team in providing a friendly,caring and relaxing environment in order to encourage and develop children in our care.
- To supervise staff and students in training and maintain a proactive and professional team.
- To ensure all daily routines are adhered to and records kept up to date.
- To maintain staffing levels, arranging cover when needed.
- To plan and carry out activities in line with the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage, Setting the Standards for Learning,
- Development and Care for children from birth to five, ensuring they meet with the Early Learning Goals.
- Ensure children get the best start in life by working in close partnership with parents/carers to develop independence, confidence and self esteem
- To ensure your specific duties regarding Health and Safety and fire procedures are understood and actioned.
- To attend management meetings.
- To undertake monthly staff meetings outside normal working hours when necessary.
- Responsible for opening and closing of the Nursery site when required.
- Assist the Nursery Manager, Senior Deputy and Deputy Manager in the management and leadership of a diverse staff team.
Full time posts are based on 42 hours per week
