We are looking for an outstanding qualified teacher to join the Senior Leadership Team at Harris Academy Merton as Vice Principal.

Harris Academy Merton opened in 2006 and serves students from Year 7 to Sixth Form. In 2008 we achieved a grading of 'Outstanding' by Ofsted, a judgment that was repeated under the more challenging criteria in 2012. The current student roll is 1250, with a planned increase in our Year 7 intake over the next year taking our numbers from 180 to 240 students. Applications for places greatly exceed the places available. The academy is set in seven acres of land containing six teaching blocks, a sports hall, a full size floodlit all weather pitch plus four full size floodlit tennis courts and our own playing fields as well as an administration building containing the assembly Hall and dining hall. We are favourably located for public transport with good local access to bus, mainline train and underground links, as well as on-site parking for vehicles and bicycles.

About you:

We require an exceptional individual with a flair for Leadership, as well as a clear commitment to supporting the vision for this Academy and driving for outstanding student outcomes. You will need to be an outstanding classroom practitioner, have a proven track record of exceptional performance and be capable of providing inspirational leadership. You will be a resourceful and enthusiastic educationalist, committed to the highest standards of achievement for all.#

You must hold QTS (or equivalent) and an undergraduate degree to be considered for this post.

Your role:

The core responsibilities of this role will be Teaching and Learning with a key focus on Continued Professional Development and leading the academy's team of Lead Practitioners. You would also lead on pastoral elements at the academy including rewards and sanctions and the wider pastoral programme ensuring the highest quality provision that includes SMSC development opportunities and the sharing of British Values.

This is an ambitious and demanding role which is about ensuring the vision for Harris Academy Merton becomes a reality including; a progressive and inspirational vision of education, driving exceptional standards of achievement for all and ensuring the Academy continues to be outstanding and leading others towards excellence. You should be dedicated to enhancing current practice through a variety of innovative approaches including curriculum design, teaching strategies, use of technology and intervention programmes that will create an environment where every classroom offers outstanding provision to all students.
