Lecturer in Biology & Chemistry

We have an opportunity for a Lecturer in Biology & Chemistry to join our team at our Chichester campus on a part time, permanent basis working 18.5 hours per week. You will receive a competitive salary of pro rata of £20,671 - £36,287 (£10,335.50 - £18,143.50) per annum. The post will commence from September 2018.

The Chichester College Group is the largest provider of further education in Sussex and is comprised of 3 Colleges: one at Chichester, one at Crawley and one at Brinsbury near Pulborough, which is land-based. As our Lecturer in Biology & Chemistry, you will be an effective and innovative Lecturer who can deliver Biology on our level 3 BTEC, Access and A Level programmes with the ability to deliver Chemistry at level 2 and above.

Our Lecturer in Biology & Chemistry duties and key responsibilities:

- Undertake teaching and learning related activities, as agreed

- Ensure that appropriate learning materials are prepared and assessments and assignments are undertaken in a timely manner

- Undertake administration and provide reports and statistics regarding student and teaching matters

- Take an active role in the achievement of high individual student retention and success rates, meeting or surpassing the relevant targets for each

- Develop curricula and learning activities, taking into consideration literacy and numeracy development, and equality and diversity

- Understand personal responsibilities in relation to Safeguarding

- Keep up-to-date with current issues, changes, and policies relating to the educational sector

- Participate in marketing activities and promote the College for the purpose of gaining sponsorship, advertising, good public relations and increased recruitment

- Undertake the delivery of literacy and numeracy

Skills & Experience required of our Lecturer in Biology & Chemistry:

- You will have a teaching qualification and newly qualified teachers are welcome to apply

- Have a passion for teaching as well as an imaginative and creative approach in the classroom, with a focus on student learning

- Able to deliver engaging and inspiring teaching, learning and assessment using up to date resources

- Have an ability to adapt teaching styles for the varied cohorts on our Level 3 programmes
