1-year fixed-term position with the possibility to convert to permanent
Our Client is on a mission! They champion co-op and community-led housing where people design, develop, build or manage their homes themselves and they aim to make this a mainstream option for both rent and home ownership. To that end, they are investing in people and partnerships that can help them make this market fly.
They currently support over 40 co-ops that house more than 2,200 households by providing or overseeing a variety of housing management services and back office administration functions under instruction from our clients. They are also a social landlord, providing housing management to their own residents living in nearly 1,000 properties.
They need a talented and inspiring person to wring key performance and other data out of their existing IT systems over the next twelve months. This creative problem-solver will find the most efficient way to extract, manipulate and analyse the information they hold in order to help them run their business better and provide a better service to their residents and clients. This will mean using some existing processes that are manual and past their prime and will require significant use of Microsoft Excel.
Their ideal team member will be a highly intelligent, curious and responsible person who can’t help but collaborate with co-workers to understand their reporting needs and find the best ways to deliver the solution. Their company values are to be fair, reliable and act with integrity. These values drive everything they do, and they expect the same from you – meaning you will need to consistently meet deadlines and expectations and help others to meet theirs.
With strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, you will listen to what managers and leaders say they need from the data and will accurately interpret those wishes, bringing them to life by way of a useful tool or report. It is more important to them to hire a creative thinker and quick learner who can figure out how unfamiliar things work than to select a candidate with knowledge of their specific IT systems.
Success in this role is using their data to produce tools that allow our Client to improve the service they give to their residents and their clients whilst ensuring the information is accurate and reliable.
They will be replacing their housing management system by April 2019, so this role will be key in ensuring they get the most from what they currently have, even whilst their attention will be on preparing for the new system. There is a possibility to convert this role to permanent to help them with data and reporting after migration, depending on the needs of the business at the time and the skills match of the candidate.
Apart from the opportunity to make your mark at our Client by using your problem- solving skills to help a small organisation with limited IT expertise improve how they work, they offer a great working environment and a lovely team, a competitive salary and bonus scheme and generous benefits. They take their employee engagement seriously and will invest in your development and training.
