The University of Bolton has embarked on an ambitious enhancement agenda as a "teaching intensive, research informed" University. We are currently seeking to appoint high potential candidates to contribute to the delivery, development, research and administrative support of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, which will include the academic and personal support of students.

Relevant teaching / mentoring and development experience is important together with the ability to undertake appropriate subject specific research and /or advanced creative practice. At the University of Bolton, we also place a strong emphasis on relevant industry experience and therefore would be especially keen to hear from candidates who are able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of recent developments gained from working in the above areas of the industry.

The University is seeking candidates with knowledge and experience who can make a strong contribution in some of the following areas: Object Oriented Programming; Relational Database Design and Development; Software Engineering best practices; Enterprise Software Development and testing; Agile Method Development; Software Project Management; Operating Systems and the use of a number of development environment and platforms; Web Programming and HCI, Linux system administration; networking and network devices; wireless networking; ethical hacking and penetration testing; virtualisation; Windows Server administration; cloud-based computing including XaaS and network security. Being a qualified trainer for Cisco, Red Hat or Microsoft certifications would be an advantage.

The successful candidates would need to show a desire and ability to deliver knowledge in an appealing manner and be passionate about creating an environment in which our students can thrive. Although teaching experience would be advantageous, full support and training will be provided for candidates who are able to demonstrate strong relevant industry experience.
