Housing Plus Group was formed by a merger between Severnside Housing in Shropshire and South Staffordshire-based Housing Plus, in October 2016. With 12,000 homes, 25,000 customers and 600 employees, the Housing Plus Group is a strong, resilient and effective provider of homes and care services throughout Shropshire and Staffordshire. The Group has ambitious plans to build more homes and provide even better choice for our customers and communities.

The Income Team is responsible for the collection of £28 million of rental income per year. We are looking for a Team Leader who can effectively develop and manage this service and mitigate the threats posed by Welfare Reform. This role requires strong leadership and the ability to manage and develop a dynamic team to achieve excellent results.  

The successful candidate will be required to take a strong role in developing and establishing a culture in the whole business that places a strong value on paying rent. Good project management skills are essential along with the ability to drive tasks through to completion. You’ll also need to be a good coordinator who has excellent negotiation skills in order to get results.

This role will be accountable for income collection and ensuring income services are harmonised across the Housing Plus Group. The ability to develop positive working relationship across all levels is essential.  Team leadership is particularly important, you will need the skills to effectively manage performance and behavioural issues in a timely and positive manner.   

Specific skills are required to deliver this role, particularly strong people management and motivational skills, a can do attitude and excellent problem solving skills, be able to organise own work and that of others, whilst using your initiative to achieve targets and objectives. A background in Income Management and a good technical knowledge of the Welfare Reform agenda is desirable.
