THE COMPANY: The Smartlist are recruiting for an Agricultural Sales Professional on behalf of an ambitious family-run business, based in the Lancashire countryside near Preston.
With a strong reputation for delivering innovative products to farmers over the last twenty years, their products are based on natural and waste-reduction principles in contrast to chemical approaches often seen in agriculture. The company is very customer-centred and see themselves 'on the side' of farmers and the land/animals they serve.
The company has a wide distribution and customer base across the UK including two self-run production facilities in Lancashire: one for small-scale products (including biological additives) and one for large-scale animal bedding production for sale to the local area. In addition, it partners with other farm-run operations in Devon, Gloucestershire and County Durham for local distribution of animal bedding.
The company management style is to guide, support and encourage rather than micro-manage. To thrive in this environment, workmates need to be self-motivated and enthused, with a great work ethic. Everyone is expected to take personal responsibility for their area of work. Collaboration and co-operation among workmates is paramount.
THE ROLE: This Agricultural Sales Professional position will be part-office and part-field based and will be responsible for maintaining an established market in South West England and driving sales growth in the area. This will have a focus on selling of animal bedding produced from the Gloucestershire and Devon production plants (as well as maintaining strong relationships with these sites), and biological additives produced in Lancashire.

- Enhance the company's good name with everyone
THE CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate will live within a commutable distance of Barton near Preston and have a full driving licence. In addition to work ethic, motivation, enthusiasm and approachability, you will have experience in both face-to-face and telesales ability.
