Micro-Optics Process Engineer

An early stage VC backed micro-optics start up is looking to recruit a Micro-Optics Process Engineer with prior experience in the areas of UV materials, micro-structure replication processes and UV printing technologies. Details of the skills required are summarised below.

Job Function:

We are looking for a Micro-Optics Process expert with a significant experience in the area of UV materials, optical micro-structure replication and advanced printing technologies. Hands on prior experience of UV based replication technologies and/ or relevant machines will be essential.

Key Activities:

?? To be a key member of the team developing new micro optic products for the business using UV replication technologies.

?? Conduct experimental work and develop new techniques in the area of the generation and replication of optical micro-structures and UV printing techniques.

?? To work closely with relevant technical and engineering specialist's in these areas.

?? Planning of all related activities to ensure successful delivery. This will include supporting seniors in meeting their respective project plans.

?? To keep an up to date record of the work carried out and to prepare necessary documentation (e.g., SOPs) for the machines.

?? Demonstrated capability in the area of pattern design and layout and generation of high resolution print tools will be advantageous.

?? Promote and maintain safe working practices and environment in line with the EHS policy and procedures of the company.

Qualification and Experience:

?? An appropriate technical degree, preferably a university degree in a relevant sciences or engineering discipline.

?? Proven practical capability in an industrial environment (min 3 yrs) in the art of precision web based UV micro optic replication and/ or printing. Prior experience of operating relevant machines, especially web handling and tension and registration control will be very advantageous.

?? Demonstrated evidence of the successful delivery of challenging technical development projects under tight time schedules in an industrial/ commercial environment.

?? Flexibility and enthusiasm with demonstrated track record of successful delivery of projects from initial development to industrial applications.

?? A team player with strategic thinking, problem solving approach and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
