What are they looking for?

The Organisation now has a permanent position available for a Communications Consultant in their Exeter office. As a Communications Consultant, you will have at least two years’ experience in an IT technical environment, and will use your analytical, technical, creative, and interpersonal skills to support every phase of the Company’s implementation lifecycle and ensure trading partners are connected efficiently and securely to the Company’s network.

The Role:

You will be responsible for the timely and efficient delivery of secure and reliable Managed File Transfer connectivity between the Company and their global trading partners. This will include new partner connections, maintenance of existing partner connections, and investigations into new application layer protocols and services.

The team are also responsible for the creation and ongoing support of network services deployed through their IBM DataPower appliances.

Full training in the Company’s solution and methodologies will be provided.

Essential Skills

• Partner connection setups require the use/knowledge of:
• AS2,
• SFTP,
• FTP,
• Web Services,
• Encryption fundamentals, including SSL/TLS,
• Network topologies,
• VPNs,
• Firewalls
• XML and EDI message structure

The following are not essential, but would be desirable:

• VANs,
• Linux, OS/400, Windows Server,
• DataPower
