Programme Development Officer (Scotland)
NJC point 22 - £20,103 pa
36 hours per week, based in Edinburgh
Fixed term contract to 31st March 2019. Extension likely but subject to funding.
At Home-Start UK our ambitions for the future are clear. We want to help create an even stronger, more vibrant Home-Start network in Scotland with more families in more communities benefiting from family support.
Home-Start is a federated network of local organisations which provide community based support for families and children. Over the past four decades Home-Start has supported over a million children and has become one of the leading family support charities across the UK.
We are now looking to recruit a Programme Development Officer to develop and deliver the work of growing Home-Start’s scope, reach and profile in Scotland in line with agreed strategies.
We are seeking a new colleague, preferably with some Third Sector experience, to help us deliver on a range of challenging work designed to help make sure that all families in Scotland have the support they need to give their children the best start in life.
You don’t need to have experience of working with children or families but we do need someone who is interested in the social value of volunteering, who enjoys profile raising work and is keen on developing their social media and project management skills. You will be able to demonstrate some understanding of the big issues facing families in Scotland today – from poverty to making the most of formal education. And if you are interested in the whole ACEs debate (that’s adverse childhood experiences) we will be interested in hearing from you.
Closing Date for Applications: 14th May 2018
Interview Date: 24th May 2018 in Edinburgh
(The interview date may be subject to change and applicants will be advised in advance should this be the case)
