Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer

Context of role- To be the lead person for our organisational Human Resource development requirements

Role purpose- The post holder will work with trustees, managers and supervisors to ensure that we have a workforce that meets our needs going into the future.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Compile and deliver an annual workforce development plan
  • Take the lead on the recruitment, induction and continuous development of paid and volunteer staff into the organisation.
  • Oversee the introduction of our performance management system
  • Support managers and supervisors in the performance management of staff and volunteers
  • Work with the trustee board to ensure that the organisation’s governance is informed, skilled and relevant to the organisation’s needs going into the future
  • Work with key managers and supervisors to ensure that they have the necessary skills and expertise to deliver the service going into the future
  • Organise internal and external learning and development activities to ensure the competence and continuing development of volunteers and staff in accordance with the workforce development plan
  • Keep adequate records around the training of trustees, volunteers and staff
  • Help to promote a positive working environment in which equality and diversity are well-managed, dignity at work is upheld and staff are enabled to do their best work
