LOCATION: Stamford, Lincolnshire

JOB TITLE: Reporter / Journalist

SALARY & BENEFITS: Competitive depending on experience + 25 days holiday + pension

WORKING HOURS: Full Time (Monday - Friday) 9-5.30pm plus additional hours when required

THE COMPANY: Our client is Britain's oldest continuously-published newspaper and has been keeping people in the south of Lincolnshire and Rutland informed of the things that matter for more than 300 years. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Reporter / Journalist to join their team in Stamford.

THE ROLE: This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person. You will identify and write stories, raise brand awareness and contribute to maintaining the high reputation the newspaper holds.

Key responsibilities for the Reporter / Journalist role is to include:-

  • Writer for print and online platforms
  • Ambassador for a paper that has an excellent reputation in the community
  • Ensure deadlines are met and content delivers to user requirements
  • Optimises presentation and distribution of stories, using target alerts, social media, managing content on new site
  • Works on news leads, contacting companies to obtain comment/reaction


THE CANDIDATE: The successful applicant for the Reporter / Journalist role will need to work accurately and to tight deadlines. You will need to be able to influence and persuade others and have excellent communication skills. You will need to live within a commutable distance to Stamford or willing to relocate.

Key skills and experience for the Reporter / Journalist role:-
  • A full UK drivers licence is essential
  • Either NCTJ qualified (including 100 words per minute) or qualified by experience
