Our leading timber engineering specialist client is seeking to strengthen their team with the addition of a Designer / Estimator. As an experienced Roof Truss Designer / Estimator you will join a renowned team of timber engineering experts, with the latest manufacturing processes and equipment, integrated supply chains and strong environmental credentials. Key Estimator / Designer Responsibilities:

· Prepare accurate schedules and quotations for submission to customers

· Prepare tender quality layouts, construction quality layouts and associated detail for submission to customers

· Review, evaluate, prioritise and manage workload

· Liaise with sales team to discuss and implement strategies to secure business

· Demonstrate value engineering to ensure best possible financial return to the business

· Present accurate information for manufacturing

· Review all work for accuracy, efficiency and quality

· Liaise with internal operational teams to deliver to level of sales demand

· Maintain and ensure the correct and timely use of internal systems

Personal Specification – Designer / Estimator:

· Self-motivated and organised

· Attention to detail and thorough approach

· Energetic and flexible team member

· Appropriate design and estimating experience

· Good numeracy skills

· Ability to prioritise and manage competing demands

· Experienced using MiTek software, Pamir 20/20, Wolf, Gang-Nail, Alpine is an advantage

· Previous experience with roof truss design essential

· Good understanding of construction drawings

· Experience working on projects with set deadlines

· Ability to build rapport with the team and wider professional team within the business
