Salary: £30,153 - £32,486 a year plus £2,000 market supplement

The Role:

The Council has an exciting opportunity within their Development Management and Control Service providing operational support for the processing and planning applications, appeals and enforcement cases. You will also develop and manage the Information Systems necessary for the successful delivery of the planning service.

Within your team, the aims is to provide a quality planning service to customers and improve the living environment for the people of Luton whilst assisting economic development and the regeneration of the town. Development Management and control plays a key role in the delivery of the Luton Investment Framework.

This opportunity is pivotal to the Development Management Service in ensuring the efficient and effective maintenance and operation of complimentary systems which enable professional planning and enforcement staff to carry out their duties.

About you:

To be able to carry out this role you will need excellent organisational skills, be able to work under pressure and be able to manage and prioritise your own workload and that of others.

You will have the opportunity to develop your already existing skills of using your own initiative to make judgements and decisions and take action. You will also be able to develop your existing knowledge of planning applications, associated legislation, planning regulations, land searches, appeals and inquiry procedures
