The Role:

The Council is looking for someone who is interested in being responsible for the condition of all building fabric to the Council owned public buildings and schools.

You'll also need to contribute to the development, implementation and management of cost effective programmes of planned maintenance and service contracts.

This role will need you to ensure that responsive and emergency repairs and dealt with efficiently and promptly so that the Council's properties are fit for purpose and safe to use.

You'll also need to be able to provide technical and legislative advice to building managers and senior staff on devolved maintenance responsibilities and monitor for compliance.

About you:

The Councils ideal candidate will need substantial experience in a building surveying environment and be able to make professional judgements as well as experience in contract administration and site supervision.

You'll need good written and verbal communication skills and be able to negotiate and influence others.

You will also need to be able to write survey reports and specifications, control and supervisor and monitor the performance of contractors and have the ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel software or equivalent

You'll have the opportunity to develop on your already existing knowledge of Health and Safety legislation including CDM regulation and Asbestos regulations.

We do ask that you have HNC in building surveying or equivalent qualification or equivalent verifiable work based experience.

This is a public facing role so you'll need to show off your fluency in speaking and writing English.
