We have an exciting opportunity for an Estates Manager to join the team based at our Crawley campus on a full time, permanent basis. You will receive a competitive salary of £37,379 - £40,850 per annum.

The Chichester College Group is the largest provider of further education in Sussex and is comprised of 3 Colleges: one at Chichester, one at Crawley and one at Brinsbury near Pulborough, which is land-based. Through our Colleges we educate and train around 25,000 full and part time students every year and provide teaching excellence to meet the future needs of the regions' employers.

As our Estates Manager you will support the Chichester College Group in the development and implementation of the Capital Strategy. You will also provide an efficient and effective Estates and Facilities service to underpin the requirements of the College.

This role will be primarily focused on meeting the needs of the Crawley College Campus and the Horsham Training Centre.  Our ambition is to develop the Crawley Campus and experience of delivering new build and refurbishment projects to time and cost is essential. 

Key Responsibilities as our Estates Manager:

- Support the Chichester College Group in the delivery of capital projects and other refurbishments works

- Manage the Estates and Facilities services and ensure they provide effective and efficient support to all areas of the College

- Ensure that Estates and Facilities policies and procedures support the strategic aims of the College and are in line with best practice as well as legislative requirements

- Ensure that all required equipment, servicing, health and safety, maintenance and statutory records and documents are retained and updated as required

- Act as the main point of contact with the cleaning and security teams ensuring that the services are delivered to the required standards

- Support the Deputy Chief Operating Officer in the preparation and monitoring of budgets

- Ensure that all College plant, equipment and services are operational on a daily basis and that repairs and maintenance are carried out efficiently and effectively

- Participate in appropriate meetings and working groups

- Support on environmental issues through the Environmental Working Group and lead on projects as required

- Manage call-out situations including fire and security alarms and other emergency situations

Skills & Experience required of our Estates Manager:

- Professional or academic qualification in a technical or estates related subject

- Level 2 literacy and numeracy

- Have up to date knowledge of estates related and Health and Safety legislation.

- Abiity to practically problem solve, be customer focused and write reports

- Experience managing a large Estates and Facilities function

- Policy development and implementation experience

- Previous experience managing budgets and physical resources

- Delivery of building and refurbishment projects

- Knowledge of Estates and Facilities management issues

- Up to date knowledge of current and proposed legislation relevant to the estates role

- Available for evening and weekend work when required

- Ability to travel between sites
