A unique opportunity has arisen for a lawyer with management experience to join their enforcement team.

The Role:

You will be operationally responsible for the delivery of their enforcement function. This includes investigation of complaints of professional misconduct, regulatory compliance and matters of fitness to practise/fitness to own.

You will deliver efficient case management, reasoned, risk-based disposal of cases and handle any legal challenges from individuals and firms. You will ensure that cases are appropriately determined by officers under delegated powers, or by appointed adjudicators on their independently clerked Professional Conduct Panel, Disciplinary Tribunal or Appeals Panel, for whom you will be a first point of contact.

You will support and manage a small team of investigation staff dealing with a broad range of matters in a fast moving environment. The Company now regulates businesses as well as individuals. You will be at the forefront of developing a proportionate approach to enforcement of regulatory compliance by law firms.

The Candidate:

You will be a qualified lawyer with experience of practice. You will have previous experience of managing staff and their caseloads. You will be resilient, skilled at people handling and able to work at pace. You will communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders and possess good organisational and analytical skills.

As one of our Management Team of six, you will contribute to the cost effective management of our business as a whole, and be responsible for your operational budget.
