Our client is a key operational unit of one of the world’s leading integrated refining & energy organisations. Employing a total staff of 420 the refinery processes 130,000 barrels of oil per day, supplying products to the UK and Northern Europe.

They now have an opportunity within the Maintenance team for a Control Systems Technician to join the site in Immingham, North Lincolnshire.

This is a key position within the Refinery Business Area Field Team reporting to an individual Area Improvement Team Engineer. In accordance with site, group and statutory standards, the individual will be responsible for the planning, coordination and execution of Control Systems maintenance activities within a Business Team.

You will be responsible for the maintenance and fault finding on Distributed Control Systems and Programmable Logic Controllers including Honeywell, Foxboro, Triconex, Siemens and maintenance of serial network communications in an industrial process environment. You should be capable of undertaking small projects and modifications as part of a multi-disciplined team with minimal supervision.

Applicants should hold an HNC or equivalent in a relevant engineering subject along with broad experience in a similar role within a petrochemical or similar heavy industrial environment. Knowledge of process control methods and lEC 61511 is desirable.
 
A comprehensive remuneration package is offered for this position which will initially be on a 3 year fixed contract basis with the potential for a permanent role depending on performance.
