Vacancy for Parish Clerk/Responsible Financial Officer
15 hrs per week (average over a 12 month period).
Applications are invited for the above post of Parish Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer for Alrewas Parish Council
The salary for the post will be calculated according to NALCs recommendations and will depend on qualifications and experience – between points SP26 to SCP33 (£12.16 - £15.24per hour).
Currently based in the Parish Council Office at the Royal British Legion Club, Rykneld Street, Alrewas the Clerk will be required to work varied hours which will be dependent upon requirements at the time – these will include some hours outside normal office hours. In particular the Clerk will be required to attend monthly meeting of the Parish Council usually held on the second Monday in the month (subject to bank holidays) and provide support for other ad-hoc meetings.
Applicants should be computer literate, have good communication skills, with a working knowledge of local government, or experience of a similar position. Additional training will be provided if required.
Duties will include preparation of meetings, taking of minutes, responding to enquiries from residents and dealing with Parish Council issues as they arise. This will include liaising with officers and members of the District Council and County Council as necessary.
