Our client is the UK's leading dementia charity. They provide information and support, improve care, fund research, and create lasting change for people affected by dementia.
Position: Dementia Support Worker
Location: Olton
Contract type: Permanent
Hours: 35 per week
Salary: GBP20,345 actual per annum
Closing date: Noon on Thursday 3 May
Interview date: Tuesday 15th and Wednesday 16th May
About the role:
In Birmingham and Solihull they are looking for a Dementia Support Worker to give support, information and guidance to a person with dementia or their carers and wider family or friends. Service users are initially contacted by telephone when they can discuss their concerns in detail with a Dementia Adviser who will also provide them with information through the post. Service users who have complex issues to address will be supported by a home visit.
About you:
They are looking for someone who has attained NVQ level 3 or equivalent. You will have an understanding of the needs of people with dementia and their carers, experience of working with statutory and voluntary agencies, knowledge of relevant legislation including the Health & Safety and the Mental Capacity Act and be able to travel independently within the service area.
You will join a team of people who are passionate to improve the life opportunities of people living with dementia and those close to them; and who are committed to learning from each other and supporting each other.
