Senior Financial Analyst

The Role:

London based family office start-up looking for an experienced hedge fund analyst to join an entrepreneurial team.  The business provides investment management for a European family.  Working closely with the CIO, CEO and family members, the role will suit a self-starter who is able to take on new tasks and work well in a small team.  The individual must have extensive investment experience across hedge fund strategies and other asset classes as specified.  The individual must be able to do due diligence on investment opportunities autonomously.  This is a unique opportunity for a well-rounded investment professional.  Candidates must have 10+ years investment experience. 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Researching hedge funds across strategies;
• Analysis of investments across asset classes;
• Screening for potential investments
• Sourcing of best investment ideas;
• Monitoring of current investments;
• Writing research reports on investments;
• Maintenance of hedge fund database;
• Portfolio analysis;
• Risk analysis;
• Operational due diligence;
• Investment reporting; and
• Maintaining relationships with banks and other service providers.

Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree;
• Master's Degree;
• Professional qualification from the CFA institute;
• 10+ years investing across hedge fund strategies;
• Experience investing in real estate and private equity;
• Experience of analysing risk / return characteristics of hedge fund managers;
• Experience using portfolio management and risk systems (e.g. Bloomberg, Pertrac); and
• Experience of writing research reports on investments.
