Home based with regular travel to Wilmslow office, Cheshire

What we are looking for

An experienced medical writer/editor to join our busy team working for an oncology expert witness. To be responsible for editing and sense-checking high-quality documents for oncology medico-legal cases, undertaking literature research, writing about clinical oncology and managing a reference database. The role will also involve assisting in preparing/submitting clinical research manuscripts, including cancer radiotherapy treatment and PET medical imaging.

The applicant must have excellent IT skills and be educated to BSc degree level in life sciences, biosciences or medical sciences. An excellent eye for detail is essential, as are good proofreading and editing skills (particularly the ability to spot inconsistencies across several documents). A good command of UK English grammar and spelling is necessary, with an ability to work according to a house style.

Ideally, the candidate will hold a research-based degree and have some knowledge of the oncology therapy area. Experience of medical writing/editing, preparing manuscripts and data review/analysis is desirable, as is relevant experience in a similar position, e.g. medical communications, healthcare agency or publishing environment.

This is a home based role but the candidate must be fairly local to Wilmslow as regular travel to the office will be required to collect/drop off work and to liaise with the rest of the team.
