Job Description LOCATION: Portsmouth
JOB TITLE: Development Assistant (Temporary)
SALARY & BENEFITS: Pro-rata salary and leave allowance based on annual FTE of GBP20,814 and 25 days.
WORKING HOURS: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week, 9am to 5pm Monday - Friday
Temporary post for up to six months in the first instance, to support cover for a period of maternity
leave within the team. The contract may be extended up to a full year.
THE COMPANY: We are currently working with a leading co-educational school located in the historic heart of Portsmouth.
THE ROLE: As Development Assistant, you will be providing administrative support to the team and there will be opportunities to support a varied programme of school and alumni events.
Key duties for the role of Development Assistant :-
Enrich, enhance, maintain and develop the school's CRM database, The Raiser's Edge
Prepare applications to charitable trusts and foundations
Support the Development Director and the Alumni Relations and Events Manager in all fundraising activities
Assist in putting together the bi-annual alumni magazine, OPUS
Help in managing the alumni groups on Facebook and LinkedIn
Attend and help out at school and alumni events as necessary
Provide general administrative support to the Development Director and Alumni Relations and Events Manager
THE CANDIDATE: The successful Development Assistant will need to have excellent interpersonal skills and good verbal and written communication skills. You will have the ability to work well within a small team and be able to interact well with people at all levels. You will excellent attention to detail and be able to work without day to day instruction. You must live within a commutable distance to Portsmouth.
Key experience essential for the role of Development Assistant :-
Ability to use a CRM database (ideally experience with The Raiser's Edge)
Full familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite of products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher)
