Our Client is a leader in the European textile service industry and delivers a complete textile rental and laundry service to all types of activities. Working across four business lines – Hospitality, Healthcare, Workwear and Facility, they work with thousands of organisations all over Europe.

They are looking for a Senior Engineer to join their team where you will support the Engineering Manager, acting as his deputy in the achievement of functional objectives that support the Site, Plant and Company Business plan. This is a permanent, full time vacancy based at their Merton site.

Within the role you will plan and direct the installation, testing, operation, maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment as per production requirements. Supporting the engineering team by working on shift, ensuring that PPMs, SSOQs and working procedures are followed, you will work closely with the production team to continuously improve site overall equipment effectiveness, people development and a lean culture.

Ensuring risk assessments / COSSH / RIDDOR are implemented and undertaken, you will support the Engineering Manager to plan and direct the installation, testing, operation, maintenance and the repair of facilities and equipment as per product requirements. Overseeing the Engineering team in the absence of the Engineering Manager, you will manage and control all activities in accordance with the agreed budgets, whilst ensuring that appropriate team safety training is completed and the safety culture is embedded into the plane. You will also make sure that the PPM schedule is adhered to, highlighting any issues to the Engineering Manager and General Manager.

They are looking for someone who is educated to HNC level in an Engineering qualification or equivalent, who has a working knowledge of PC based planned preventative maintenance systems within a production background. With experience of electrical / mechanical / steam operations, you will have leadership skills, an analytical approach and be hands on.

The role involves you predominantly working day shifts, Monday – Friday. A level of flexibility is required as occasionally you will need to work weekends (one in six).
