Membership Development Officer
Reference number: A0240418
Location: Bristol
Salary starting at £17,276 - £18,716 per annum
Hours: Full time
Contract: Permanent

There is an exciting opportunity to work for the RSPB in and around Bristol to increase people's connection to the natural world through RSPB membership. We need to encourage more people to spend more time in nature, to help fund vital wildlife conservation work and to help give nature a home.

Nature is in big trouble, but we've got big plans to save it, can you help us?

The RSPB is focusing on some ambitious plans and targets - working together with the public and its partners to collectively change the fate of nature. The successful candidate will be an ambassador for the RSPB, and will enthuse and inspire members of the public to join the RSPB by telling them about the work that the RSPB is doing to save nature and by using fundraising/sales skills to promote new joiners to RSPB membership which will be key to the future success of the RSPB.

The successful candidate will become part of the RSPB South West membership team. This role will involve working across a wide variety of offsite venues/locations such as farmers' markets, garden centres and parks, enthusing, inspiring and recruiting new RSPB members. Working alongside other RSPB staff and volunteers at events and at nature reserves in the Somerset and Gloucestershire area and sometimes across the wider South West will also be an interesting part of the role. Full training and support will be given to the successful candidate and a valid driving license is essential. A van and work mobile phone is provided.

Applicants should be comfortable in loading and unloading vehicles, happy to work weekends, evenings and bank holidays and when required work unsociable hours.

If you have a passion for saving nature and want to inspire others to do the same, please get in touch. We look forward to hearing from you.

Closing date: 29 April 2018
