Estates Head Groundsperson Gardener

Rydal Penrhos are looking to recruit an Estates Head Groundsperson Gardener to be responsible for the highest standards of maintenance of all outdoor sports playing surfaces, school grounds and gardens across the School estate.

Reporting to the Estates Manager and liaising with the Director of Sport (with regards to sporting fixtures and pitch use) you will work with and manage a small team of grounds garden staff to ensure the cost effective delivery of services and end user satisfaction.

Applicants should be suitably experienced and qualified in sports pitch provision and general grounds and garden horticulture maintenance, including cricket squares / wicket preparation plus have the ability to lead and organise the grounds gardens team.

Hours of work – 37.5 hours per week

As we are a boarding school with a seven day a week timetable, the successful candidate will be required to be flexible in terms of working days and hours, which may include evenings and weekend working.  A working rota will be determined by the Head Groundperson Gardener and agreed with the Estates Manager to ensure matches / fixture needs are supported as requirements vary throughout the year.

Wage: circa £28,000 (depending on qualifications & experience)
