Fitting parts to vans including:
Tow bars
Roof vents
Electrical equipment
Roof racks and accessories
Ramps
Tail lifts
Electrical installations
Heaters
Compressed air systems
Load restraint systems
Desireable Skills
Woodworking
Metal fabrication
Welding
Automotive wiring
Use of hand power tools
Use of woodworking equipment.
Training will be given in specific skills if the candidate has a suitable engineering background
Basic Minimum Skills
Basic engineering skills including:
Numeracy
Literacy
Measuring
Use of hand tools
Use of woodworking tools
Use of power tools.
Ability to understand engineering drawings and specifications.
Health and Safety appreciation.
Understanding of the how a motor vehicle works.
Other Requirements
Clean driving licence
Ability to work outside in all weathers
Willing to work away from home for short periods
Willing to work overtime, evenings and weekends when required.
The job requires the fitter to work alone or as part of a team at Advantec's workshops or at the customers' premises so an ability to problem solve and a high level of initiative is required.
Experience
The candidate will ideally have worked as a van equipment fitter.
Alternatively as:
A motor caravan fitter
Caravan fitter
Van tow bar fitter
Van roof rack fitter
Agricultural equipment fitter
Motor mechanic
Or any type of job manufacturing and/or fitting equipment to motor vehicles.
