Planner MEAR62679

Canterbury

£18,500 per annum

Here at Mears Group our vision is to make a positive difference to the communities we serve.

We do this by improving homes, improving communities and improving lives and our approach is based on the development of outstanding partnerships with employees, clients, tenants, customers, their families and the wider community.

An excellent opportunity has now arisen for a Planner to join us at our office based in Hersden, Canterbury, from which we deliver a responsive repairs service for social housing tenants in East Kent.

Within this role you will be responsible for managing work, monitoring workloads, scheduling resources and ensuring that jobs are completed within timescales (to key performance indicators). Whilst ensuring employees have the workload to allow them to perform to an optimum level at all times, you will also provide supporting information on operative performance levels to the general manager. You will also be liaising with customers at all levels (tenants, operatives, admin colleagues, managers and our client), by telephone and in writing.

In order to be successful in this role it is essential that you have an understanding of the construction industry, including trades, materials, processes and safety.  With an understanding of in house scheduling systems and administration you will have the ability to manage and maintain workload diaries for our operatives.

Good IT knowledge is required, along with strong organisational skills necessary to manage and organise own workload.

Above all, the successful Planner will possess a strong customer focus, excellent communication skills and have the ability to motivate others.

Reporting to the Senior Administrator, you will work within the administration team to control the provision of administration to the office, ensuring that all administrative procedures are being undertaken in total compliance with Company operating instructions and in a timely and accurate manner.

Educated to GCSE (or equivalent) level in English and Maths, you will have experience of working with computerized systems, including data entry and calculations, within the building maintenance arena.

Once you join the family, you'll have online access to a range of voluntary and flexible benefits, including...

  • Training and development
  • Mears Advantage - Allowing you to save money on everything from weekly groceries, to your annual family holiday
  • Mears Assist - A confidential hotline open to all colleagues, providing support on a wide range of personal and work-related issues.
  • Long service and additional holiday leave - Colleagues who stay for a period of time at Mears are rewarded for their service.
  • Seeing first-hand the impact you have on the lives of the people you support
