What you'll do as a Smart Meter Installer Fitting Smart Meters in our customers' homes, you'll be the friendly face of SSE. Making visits in your well-equipped van, you'll meet all kinds of people. You'll have targets based on the number of appointments booked in and we'll give you the time to complete every job safely and answer every customer's questions properly. We operate flexibly to meet customer demands, this may occasionally require you to work away from home as part of your role. What we are looking for This is a customer-facing role, so it's important that your people skills are just as strong as your technical ability. We're looking for trainees who: • are keen to learn in a technical environment • are not enrolled in another apprenticeship or government funded education programme • demonstrate a high degree of safety awareness and have some IT skills • hold a current driving licence with a maximum of 6 points • have GSCE in English and Maths, grade A-C (or equivalent) • ideally have some experience of working directly with customers We'll need proof of your qualifications to progress your application, therefore please ensure you attach the required certificates before submission.
