We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and outstanding Qualified Carpenter who can make a real contribution to our strategic plan. Our aspiration is to become an outstanding provider in Surrey. Nescot College will see significant investment and growth in the next few years, adding to its existing portfolio of construction provision, making it one of the most exciting places to teach in Surrey. Having recently invested over GBP30 million in our facilities to provide our students with access to the best facilities and equipment, we are seeking to ensure that our students are skill ready when they leave the door and are armed with an understanding of the current developments in the relevant technical disciplines.
Successful candidates will be required to deliver qualifications to both Students and apprentices in both workshop and classroom.
Applicants should have an industry recognised level 3 qualification in Carpentry or equivalent. Experience and knowledge of first and second fix carpentry work on a wide range of construction sites would be advantageous for prospective applicants, as would knowledge of building regulations and advances in building materials.
You will teach and assess students who are currently studying for carpentry levels 1, 2 and 3 including Apprenticeships.
Applicants should have experience of teaching and assessing in this area and have knowledge of the current apprenticeship standards and frameworks. Applicants should hold their A1 Award (or equivalent) and a teaching qualification (or be willing to work towards both of these). V1 (IQA) is desirable but not essential. New applicants direct from industry will be welcome to apply as support will be made available to gain teaching & assessing qualifications.
We are able to offer you a final salary pension scheme, generous holidays and the facilities of a College campus set in 7 acres of green belt in a peaceful setting. The College has excellent transport links and is set in a location convenient to London and the South East and offers a large free on-site car park.
