The Role To assist the Cashiers Manager with distribution of work within Cashiers team, improvements in procedures of the department and to undertake the processing of transactions (particularly complex items) in accordance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR) or overseas equivalent. Duties Duties include, but are not limited to: Assisting the Cashiers Manager where appropriate in ensuring the cashiering team meet their targets and deadlines at all times and are fully compliant with the SAR, or other overseas equivalent Assisting the Cashiers Manager in implementing Service Level Agreements for the Cashiering team, which meet business requirements Assisting the Cashiers Manager in identifying and implementing changes to processes to ensure maximum efficiency, and best practice Processing office account payables, cheque production and TT/CHAPS via electronic banking, including Counsel and Expert ledger Processing multi-currency office account receipts and dealing with FX differences Processing client account cheques and TT/CHAPS receipts across multiple banks and advising Associates accordingly whilst ensuring full compliance with SAR and AML regulations Processing client account payments, cheque production and TT/CHAPs via electronic banking in line with SAR and internal fraud prevention controls Buying currency and processing Foreign payments via electronic banking Providing interest calculations on request on client money Placing client money on deposit as required Carrying out, or reviewing bank reconciliations on both office and client accounts as required Performing client account balance reviews and working with Partners and Associates to ensure these are dealt with in line with SAR Ensuring adherence to Solicitors Accounts Rules, or other overseas equivalent at all times Knowledge, skills and experience required (bespoke to role) Excellent comprehensive knowledge of Solicitor Accounts Rules 5 years + experience within a legal cashiering environment, preferably in a senior role Experience of high volume, complex transaction processing within a busy cashiers team An enthusiastic and positive approach Excellent attention to detail and numeracy Good IT skills including Excel and ability to work across multiple systems effectively An ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced environment Excellent communication skills and a customer service philosophy Good team player with ability to work on own initiative
