Policy Manager

Morgan Hunt are currently recruiting for a Policy Manager to work at a health charity based in London. This is a permanent position looking to pay cGBP35,000. Main Duties: * As the Policy Manager, and with the support of the Head of Policy and Campaigns, you will be responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of policy activity in order to achieve real change in policy and practice. You will play a leadership role within the team, with scope to line manage a member of staff. * Work with the Head of Policy and Campaigns and Medical Advisors to develop evidence based policy positions in priority areas, ensuring that these are in line with emerging knowledge, political landscape and patient experience, to influence the policy agenda in the UK * Producing high quality and accurate policy reports, briefings and papers to influence improvements to the diagnosis, treatment and management of patients to consultations when required, making a robust and evidence-based case for the charity's position. * Develop comprehensive plans to influence policy development and implementation, taking responsibility for areas of the Policy and Campaigns team's work * Work closely with fundraising to ensure the Policy and Campaigns team's core work plan contains projects or work that can be packaged to appeal to funders/ donors, where appropriate. Personal Specification * At least 4 years of experience in strategic policy development and influencing work; and at least 1 year of line management experience. * Ability to carry out media interviews - previous experience highly desirable. * Excellent networking, influencing, relationship building and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others. Strong understanding of the political environment and of parliament, as well as sound political judgement. * The confidence and personal authority to work at a senior level with external organisations, particularly within government departments, parliament and NHS bodies and to build relationships and partnerships.
