An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support students aged from 2 - 19 within a special day school based in Boston on a supply basis. The school aims to provide a broad and balanced cirriculum designed to meet the unique needs of each student who have severe learning difficulties and some also have an autistic spectrum disorder, epilepsy, a physical disability, sensory impairment, medical needs and/or a communication difficulty.
The Head Teacher is looking for a qualified SEND Teaching Assistant who can remain positive in what can sometimes be a challenging environment. Personality is paramount in this role as it focuses on being able to engage students that may previously have given up on education. The ideal SEND Teaching Assistant will be able to liaise with senior leaders as well as the students in order to help them believe in themselves and to develop coping strategies.
The successful SEND Teaching Assistant must:
*Be Level 3 qualified in Teaching & Learning in Schools or equivalent
*Be patient, caring and committed
*Have the ability to build rapport with the class teachers and children
