The Payment Systems Regulator Associate/Senior Associate, Events and Visits, Stakeholder Engagement and Communications Background
The PSR is an independently accountable economic regulator for UK payment systems the 'pipes' that allow the transfer of money between people and institutions, from paying for your coffee by card at a restaurant to receiving your wages or transferring funds to buy a house.

We are the first regulator of our kind in the world. Our core role is to promote competition, innovation, and make sure the interests of the people and businesses that use payment systems are kept at the forefront of change. And we are a growing organisation that is always looking for new talent. Currently we have approximately 80 staff working at the PSR across four departments; Policy, Legal, Communications and Operations.

Joining the PSR is an excellent opportunity to play a role in the growth of a new economic regulator in the UK.
What does this job involve?
The communications team supports the PSR by building confidence in our approach and showing how we are a credible regulator. It helps people inside and outside of the building to understand what we do, how and why.

The team manages the channels we use to communicate for example, the PSR website, our publications and social media, to name a few. They makes sure our style, tone and presentation in all written materials are consistent and professional. The team also handles all media enquiries, speaking to journalists so that they write about us accurately.

The team liaises with the organisations we regulate and work with in the UK, Europe and internationally to make sure we engage with them in the right way. Internally they help us get the information we need to work together effectively and efficiently. This can be through channels like internal bulletins and cascades, or by helping project teams involve the right people in a way that suits their needs.
Purpose of the role?
The PSR's Communications team manages all aspects of stakeholder engagement from day-to-day engagement and briefing, to large-scale events, international visits and public affairs.
