HR Manager – Successful Legal Firm

Withers & Rogers are actively seeking a motivated HR Manager to provide a valuable HR service to a Firm of 200 employees and Partners, and to coach, oversee and motivate our small HR team in Bristol.
We are a leading international Firm of Patent & Trade Mark Attorneys with 4 UK offices, and we have recently expanded into Europe. Our Bristol office is located in the bustling city centre, just 10 minutes' walk from Temple Meads station.
We are ideally looking for someone to join us on a full-time basis, however applications for part-time working patterns (4 days per week) would be considered.
A fantastic salary is on offer, as well as a benefits package which includes a sabbatical policy allowing a one month break after 3 years' service and 3 months after 5 years' service, a generous holiday allowance with the opportunity to buy or sell up to 5 additional days, and a competitive employer pension contribution as well as a full package of other benefits.
This role offers fantastic breadth - no two days will be the same and the appointee should be prepared to get stuck into the operational as well as the strategic in both HR and recruitment.
Responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing, coaching and motivating a small HR and Recruitment Team;
- Developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives with the Head of HR, aligned with the overall business strategy;
- Leading the team to implement and manage effective HR systems, policies and procedures and ensure that all transactional HR is processed quickly and efficiently;
- Managing strategic projects;
- Providing effective, customer focussed and professional HR support to employees and Partners;
- Producing and reporting on key management information, so that issues may be addressed and improvements made;
- Managing the annual salary review process, advising management on promotion and salaries including conducting benchmarking.
The successful candidate will be:
- Organised with an extremely high level of attention to detail;
- Degree educated (or equivalent);
- Experienced within a professional services firm, preferably a Partnership;
- Qualified to CIPD Level 7;
- Comfortable leading ER meetings;
- Experienced in recruitment and HR;
- A comfortable decision maker who can demonstrate gravitas;
- Flexible to travel to all UK offices on occasion;
- An experienced line manager.
