NIAB TAG is a leading UK centre for plant science, crop evaluation and agronomy, with a regional network and headquarters in Cambridge. Our field crop research and impartial information is widely utilised by the agricultural community. We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Centre Manager to join our regional field trials team at Morley, Norfolk.
You will be responsible for the management of the trials and trials team based at Morley. This will include establishing, managing, recording, harvesting and reporting on a range of arable, forage and root crops, along with assisting with the delivery of our farming systems research trials working to agreed protocols and will be responsible for equipment maintenance and Health and Safety compliance.
You must have a good standard of secondary education and a full driving licence. Pesticide application, forklift, ATV and workshop skills certificates are all necessary, but training will be provided when required. Experience in the operation of agricultural machinery is
essential and the use of precision farming technology would be a benefit. A sound knowledge of UK crop husbandry methods is essential along with IT literacy and some understanding of statistical techniques.
Starting salary for this permanent, full-time position is £25,379 to £28,199, dependent on experience and qualifications.
