Hostel Support Workers

Do you have previous experience of working with young people in the following settings: youth work, residential or social work, probation/criminal justice, community work, education and training, mother and baby units, housing or support work?

I am currently looking for support workers that can provide support when required to young people at risk of homelessness. Enabling them to develop their skills, confidence and opportunities and make a successful transition to adulthood. Assisting young people to achieve their support plan goals by helping them with life skills or other support needs.

This role is temporary however there is opportunity for you to go permanent with the organisation. A temporary role is a great way of picking up bookings as and when suits you with no set contracted hours you have to commit too.

Both day shifts and sleep-ins will be required for this role with the day rate of pay ranging from £8 - £8 and sleep-ins at a flat rate of £67.

Successful candidates will possess the following;

• Experience within a similar setting
• An NVQ qualification within Care
• Ability to assist young people in improving life skills
• Knowledge of welfare rights, benefit claims, resources etc
• Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group
• Experience of supervising volunteers
