A well-established Health and Wellbeing institute are now recruiting for a Residential Support Worker for a four bed home for young people with challenging behaviours, in Penarth, Wales.
You will work closely with young people who have more than one Learning disability (Autism / Aspergers), Mental Health and Physical Disabilities.
You will need:
Knowledge & Skills
- NVQ/QCF level 2 in relevant care/children & young people related area or equivalent internal and externally recognised qualification and working towards appropriate NVQ/QCF level 3.
- Experience working in a similar environment within the child healthcare sector.
- Ability to show empathy and understanding of complex mental and behavioural needs.
- Excellent communication skills
- Effective organisational capability
- Must have had a full driving licence for three years
- Flexibility to respond to the changing needs of those who we support
You would be required to support each young person's emotional and physical well-being. Additionally, collective responsibility for the care and security of equipment and consumables on site will be required.
