About us

Bath Spa University’s vision is to be a leading educational institution in creativity, culture and enterprise. With innovative teaching and learning, focussed research excellence and state-of-the-art facilities, we put our students at the very centre of all we do.

About the role

This post requires an experienced administrator to take a leading role in all aspects of the University’s assessment process.  Based in the Student Services department, this role has responsibility for examinations, processing student marks and grades and for the administration of assessment boards and other relevant academic panels.

This role is designed to provide high levels of continuity and service for all assessment processes, and is a primary point of contact for academic colleagues and the wider University community.  With a thorough understanding of academic regulations and the ability to disseminate these effectively, the Assessment Coordinator will enable their team and those they support to provide the best possible service to students.

About you

Educated to degree level, the post holder will demonstrate excellent administration skills and must be able to organise and prioritise their work effectively. Advanced IT skills in Microsoft office are essential and a working knowledge of relational databases would also be an advantage, ideally in an educational context.

With regular liaison with staff across the University and attendance at relevant committees, you will demonstrate excellent communication skills at all levels.  Taking pride in your attention to detail and accuracy with data, you will have the opportunity to play a major role in some of the key points of the student journey, culminating in the University’s graduation ceremonies.
