About us
Bath Spa University’s vision is to be a leading educational institution in creativity, culture and enterprise. With innovative teaching and learning, focussed research excellence and state-of-the-art facilities, we put our students at the very centre of all we do.
About the role
We are looking for an experienced administrator with a sound knowledge of relational databases, ideally in a Higher Education context. Knowledge of SQL, Microsoft Access or Microsoft SSRS reporting tools would be an advantage, but equally important is a keen eye for detail and a willingness to develop.
Based within the Student Services department, this highly varied role will be responsible for the provision of student related reporting, responding to the requirements of colleagues within the University and external parties. The post will also play an integral role in the production of the University’s key statutory reports throughout the year.
This position will require close liaison with staff across the University and so requires a proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels. You will offer advice and guidance on reporting requirements, agreeing deadlines and identifying training needs and areas of development in conjunction with our training officer. The post holder will ensure that information provided by the Service is accurate, timely and fit for purpose.
About you
Educated to degree level (or equivalent), the post holder must demonstrate initiative and self-motivation and will champion best practice throughout the department and beyond. With the key remit of improving data quality and accessibility, the right candidate will be able to develop their own learning and professional expertise in this new role supporting the Student Records Manager. Resilient but flexible under pressure, you not only understand the importance of good record keeping, you also have the necessary skills to convey this to those around you.
