Our client is a leading publisher operating in the seasonal retail sector. Consisting of three companies, they collectively employ 140 full time employees and take on further seasonal staff during peak periods. 

An opportunity has now arisen for an HR Manager to join the group on a full or part time basis and support HR processes and practice for the three group entities.

For the right candidate this role can operate on a flexible hours basis with a minimum of 25 hours per week up to full time. 

Your Role: 

As the HR Manager, you will be tasked with providing key human resources support across the group to senior managers at both an operational and strategic level. You will also play a vital role in resolving day-to-day HR matters. 

This is an independent role, where you will need to be comfortable working autonomously and balance the needs of the business with those of the employee. 

Reporting to the Financial Director, your activities will involve: 

- Providing support to the recruitment process 
- Advising and guiding Directors and Line Managers regarding HR related issues 
- Overseeing the implementation of the HR service and improving it where required 
- Managing employee relations and providing general HR advice 
- Ensuring HR records are updated 
- Updating policies, procedures and practices as requirements demand 
- Taking part in specific projects and activities that help to develop better workplaces within the group 

About You: 

To be considered for the role of HR Manager, you will need: 

- At least three years’ HR experience 
- The ability to work independently 
- Strong written and verbal communication skills 
- A proactive approach 
- The ability to multitask 
- Excellent interpersonal skills 

Ideal candidates will also have a CIPD qualification, although this is not essential.
