Purpose of job You will be supporting the Real Estate Knowledge Management (KM) team, and wider initiatives in Real Estate (RE), with a variety of tasks ranging from drafting to research, training administration and reporting. Key responsibilities • Assisting with updating templates and guidance, preparing templates for automation and testing them; • Setting up a template review process using Lexis draft; • Liaising between Knowledge Development Lawyers and Learning & Development regarding RE training requests and general administration of the programmes; • Assisting with the preparation of current awareness bulletins and updates for the teams within the department; • Assisting with legal research and other know-how queries; • Reviewing journals, online know-how resources, legislation and cases; liaising with KDLs and Library to identify items of interest to lawyers in the relevant practice areas; • Drafting notes on legal developments/cases; • Database management: profiling, indexing and retrieving hard and electronic copies of documents on/from know-how databases; creating and amending intranet pages; • Preparing monthly content review of database entries and dealing with any consequential updating required following KDL review; • Assisting with administration of RE associate KM hours projects (e.g. to add monthly hours stats; status updates etc) • Assisting with the implementation and management of the RE KM strategy; • Drafting the fortnightly RE bulletin with help from the team; • Monitoring attendance at and feedback from RE training sessions through Survey Monkey or similar; • Exploring innovative training tools such as Mentimeter and Prezzi and helping trainers to implement them. Key relationships The role will involve working closely with the RE KDLs and all members of the RE team. You will also be working with the RE marketing team and other KDLs/KM paralegals around the firm. Experience and knowledge • Completed Legal Practice Course (LPC); • Legal research (including using online sources such as LexisNexis, Westlaw, PLC) and preparing clear, concise research notes; • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word including styles and hyperlinks. Skills and competencies • Flexible approach and an ability to manage and prioritise numerous work streams at the same time; • Good writing/drafting skills; • Excellent IT skills; • Attention to detail; • Willingness to learn; • Excellent organisational skills; • A good team player; • Ability to use initiative and to innovate.
