Partnerships and Projects Manager Location: London N7 9DP Salary: From GBP25,000 per annum Job Type: 1 year Fixed Term Contract 5 days per week - 37.5 hours About the company: First Story changes lives through writing. The Partnerships and Projects Manager role This is a critical role sitting between First Story's programme and fundraising teams delivering major events to support our high-profile advocacy, programme and fundraising efforts, including the Young Writers' Festival, Summer Residentials, National Writing Day, and a range of cultivation events such as First Story's 10th Anniversary Gala. Duties of the Partnerships and Projects Manager: Project manage 4 key fundraising events a year, including working to budgets and deadlines and undertaking event planning and production, venue and caterer liaison, and creation and management of guest lists. Project manage 2 national programme events (First Story Young Writers' Festival and Summer Residential in partnership with the Arvon Foundation), including working to budgets and deadlines, and undertaking event planning and production, venue and caterer liaison, and creation and management of guest lists. Support on managing partnership relationships across events and other key partnerships. Liaise with all teams on guest lists for each event, ensuring that the events are serving both programme and fundraising aims. Support the Executive Director on National Writing Day planning and programming. Fulfil other responsibilities as outlined in the First Story Accountability and Responsibility Document, contributing to the overall work of the organisation as required. Requirements of the Partnerships and Projects Manager: A commitment to First Story's vision and ethos; Strong entrepreneurial skills; 3-5 years' experience working in a charitable, private or public environment; 2-3 years' experience of charity or commercial event management; Excellent relationship-building and partnership skills; Excellent communication skills, both written and oral; Demonstrable track record of problem-solving; The ability to prioritise workload and manage time across multiple projects. Strong organisation, administration and IT skills; experience using InDesign is highly desirable.
