IT Solution Architecture Lead

Virgin Money has a number of fantastic opportunities for talented individuals to join our CTO team where they will bridge the gap between the business and IT, defining robust, enterprise strength architectural solutions that will stand the test of time and that will support our business to achieve its goals. We are looking for individuals who can take responsibility for their solutions and designs, aligning these to IT Strategy, and progress these through the delivery lifecycle, owning them from Inception to Delivery whilst bringing all stakeholders on the journey. In addition to this the architects will develop close relationships with upstream and downstream internal customers to help shape key strategies, roadmaps and solution options, acting as technology enablers and transforming the way that we operate as a business. To be successful as a Solution Architecture Lead you will be accountable for the specification and design of architectural solutions to meet defined business needs in accordance with time, cost and quality measures. You must have excellent communication skills and take ownership of solutions throughout the project lifecycle, presenting these to both senior IT and business stakeholders ensuring a common understanding. We are looking for a self-starter with an interest in emerging technology and industry best practice who will apply the appropriate principles and standards to their solutions and help advance our estate, making banking even better.
The successful candidate will have a proven delivery record in a similar role where they have applied formal project delivery methodologies. You will enjoy presenting complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences and have strong planning, analysis, negotiation and quality assurance skills. It would be great if you've worked in Financial Services but if not, we'd still love to hear from you.
Required skills/experience:
- Experience of working in a structured IT environment with formal delivery methodologies
- Understanding of a variety of modelling approaches
- Awareness of industry trends and best practice
- Good team player with the ability to demonstrate initiative and innovation
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to discuss solution related issues with both senior business and technical stakeholders.
Desirable skills/experience:
- AWS Solution Architecture
- Experience of Agile / SCRUM methodologies
- Exposure to Infrastructure / Technology design and implementation

Salary - GBP40,000 - GBP60,000 per annum depending on experience, plus amazing benefits
